Christmas PARTY

As international student might be out of town or going back to their country so Marcel was organizing a pre-Christmas party last Friday to make the party a bit earlier. Her house had been decorated and it looked so Christmas. I like her designed especially the Christmas tree. Everyone wouldn't miss a chance to take a photo with the tree.

I'm so excited that my first Christmas will be celebrating in U.S.. In my mind, Christmas is celebrated with snow, Santa, exchange present and so on. I can feel it this year. I have never thought that I can celebrate the Christmas which showed in the drama. It is so dramatic for me. However, I will never miss a chance to capture down every moment during Christmas.

Chicago Trip

I am back. Finally, I traveled around the big city. I have been here for more than 3 months and I have never been in Chicago. It was really a great trip because I could shop a lot. I went there during Thanksgiving so the restaurants were all closed. Therefore, we had our first trip to China Town, where the restaurants were open. I was so excited that I could find a lot of food in China Town which I missed a lot. We had a total of three meals in three restaurants within three hours. I can tell that we possess a really big capacity in our stomachs.Nevertheless, we went shopping at 5a.m. in the morning the day after Thanksgiving. I think I was really a crazy shopper. That was also my first time to go shopping early in the morning. I can't imagine that I could wake up at 3 something and operate with a tired body. Anyway, I had fun during my shopping day. I bought cheap coats and I think they were worth it. :)I had fun during my holiday. How about you guys? I bet you guys had a nice holiday as well. Good night and see you all tomorrow.

Pre-thanksgiving

I have a pre-thanksgiving lunch yesterday at Marcel's house. She prepared tons of foods to serve the international students. By the way, I saw different kind of food that I never try before, so it seems new for me. I like their turkey, cranberry, desserts and etc. I was so excited that I can celebrate thanksgiving here. That was my first time to celebrate thansgiving with all the international students and some of the Americans.

Orginally, I don't know what thanksgiving is. Why is it so important for American? My roommate told me that it used to express thanks for one's material and spiritual possessions and it celebrated annually. Before we have our thanksgiving lunch, we required to say what are the things that we are thanksful for. I said I am thanksful for my life and I am able to wake up everyday to face my wonderful life.

However, this is an awesome holiday and I will celebrate my thanksgiving holiday in Chicago. I'm really looking forward to travel around.

LoVe DRiNkiNg???

I found that I fall in love in drinking. Oh my god, how come? Is it our campus near Water Street or liquor store? Actually those are the possibility as well.

Shopping need to spend a lot. Besides shopping? I couldn't find any suitable place to fulfill my free time. Even though it still has other places, the weather is not allow me to do so. It is too cold to have outside activities. Therefore, party in house is the most suitable.

I am not really like party, I am not a party girl. I would like to have party in the house because I like talking and sharing. Our party always composed by the international student. We are all coming from different countries so that our conversation are really interesting. They will share their countries experience, culture and so on so forth. From this, we could learn a lot and I think this is really awesome to know each other.

As a conclude, am I love drinking? Drinking alcohol is only a part of our entertainment, actually talking and sharing part are most concerned.

Thai Lunch And Chinese Dinner

I have been here for 78 days and I am so surprising that I don't have homesick. The reason is I have been leave my hometown since I was 13 years old and learned to be independence. From that, I learn how to cook. I like to eat so that I like to cook different kinds of food.

Seriously, I am sick of the food in the campus. The food here are totally the same everyday and they never change it since the first day I was here until now. Moreover, the food here are too cheesy or oily. That is why I am gaining weight everyday.

When I received the mail from my friend that they will have a Thai lunch this weekend. I was so excited as I miss the spicy food for a long time. We cooked in her house and the taste made me missed my homeland so much. One thing surprised me was she is a Hmong but she can cook Thai food well and she told me that she born here and grew here. Anyway, I am so happy that I find a people who like to cook. Next time we will held a Malay lunch or dinner as I promised them. :)

Besides that, my Malaysian fellows and I have a Chinese dinner at Great Wall. We have made some profits on the International folk fair and this dinner is a reward to every one.

Is it awesome that to have the international food in a day? I hope I can have it everyday :(

Trick Or Treating?

Happy Halloween, my fellow friends. This week is a crazy week. Everyone dressed up with their unique and very creative custom. (I do hope I have one, but I didn't have time to grab one :(..) My country doesn't celebrate Halloween as crazy as here, so this is my first time to experience it.

On Friday, I went to my friend's host family house to have a small eating party. At about 6p.m., we started to give the candies to the kids. They came to us and said: "trick or treat"? Her host dad told us that when they were young if somebody didn't gave food to them, they would throw eggs to their window. It was really fun.

The most enjoying thing for me was that I saw lots of different customs when the kids came to us. I can tell that were really lots of kids because we were short of candies at a moment and need to buy some more. I saw the candies that their daughter brought back with a large bag, it could eat for a year for me.

Besides, I did celebrate a drinking party with my friend. I have a super super fun party that night.

How about you, friends? I know you guys have a great time also. See you all on Monday.

International Folk Fair...

I have a busy weekend. I helped my country members to prepare some stuffs for the folk fair. We needed to prepare everything a week ago to make sure that everything was prefect to show to other. In Malaysia, we have three main races which are Malay, Chinese and Indian. Even though I was born in Chinese family, I dressed myself up with the Indian custom. It is great that we can try different customs in my country.

International folk fair is a meaningful and educational event. We can learn different culture from different countries. I explored every countries and I have seen something that I didn't see before. It was really interesting.

Besides, food was the main things that attracted people to the folk fair. We could try a lot of food and the food mostly made by the student themselves. That was great that the student not only study hard but also can cook well. Awesome.

However, I do hope that school will organize the educational event like this to let the student gain more knowledge.
